Use these age and height recommendations (above) as a guide, however it's also important to take into account your child's ability and personal confidence. If in between sizes, or you're unsure, err on the side of smaller. Children will have more fun and learn to ride with greater ease when they have more control of the bike.
A bike is the right size when your child can:
- Sit on the saddle and rest the balls of both feet on the ground
- Straddle the top bar with a comfortable clearance and with both feet flat on the ground
- Reach the handlebars with a slight bend in the arms when sitting on the seat
- If there are handbrakes, your child should be able to grasp them and apply enough pressure to stop the bike.
Yes, if you purchase a BYK for in store pick-up it will be fully assembled by one of our mechanics, ready to ride. The E-250 and E-350 come with training wheels installed, unless otherwise specified.
If you'd like any extras (coloured grips, handlebar streamers, front basket) just let us know when purchasing and we'll make sure they're installed on the bike!
Yes, BYK shipping is $40 and will be automatically added to your purchase. Your BYK will be assembled and safety checked, then partially dissassembled and boxed for shipping. There will be some minor reassambly on your end (installing front wheel & pedals, mounting handlebars).
