The daily commuter
The Lekker Urban Series is the perfect pick for a commuter riding up to 10km each way, with mudguards, a rack and lights as standard. These bikes are comfortable and affordable, reliable and unproblematic. You'll get a strong feeling of propulsion from the motor, and a decent amount of kilometres per charge. In the Urban range, Lekker offer the Jordaan and Amsterdam.
Trade-off
The Lekker Urban series runs on a chain, which will need some TLC every now and then. To keep everything running smoothly, lubricate it every few hundred kilometres. Read our article on caring for your ebike.
Runner up
The Lekker GTS (either Amsterdam or Jordaan) runs on a belt, rather than a chain, so it's smoother, cleaner, & almost no maintenance. It's a little pricier, but worth the upgrade, particularly if you live on the coast.
The school-runner
When it comes to the school run, the Tern Quick Haul Long can't be beat. With plenty of space for two passengers, you can take kids of all ages (or even an adult!) as well as kit and cargo. Trade-off
The Quick Haul Long does not have any suspension so some riders find it bumpy; unlike other Tern bikes the handlebars do not fold, so it's not the most compact longtail.

The Vamos Amigo Plus comes with suspension, a folding stem, a passenger pack for all your accessory needs, and hub-drive propulsion, all at a very affordable price point.
The space-saver
The Smartmotion E20 is a sweet and simple little folding bike. It's solid, reliable and comfortable, and also happens to be one of the lightest bikes in our range. With small wheels and a low minimum saddle height, as well as a fully folding frame, it suits those who need a compact bike - whether to fit in a small space (ie apartments, terraces, car-boots, caravans) or to fit a small stature.
Trade-off

For the tech-savvy, you'll get the latest Bosch bells & whistles such as navigation, ebike lock, bluetooth connectivity, and many upgrade options. Doing mainly off-road riding? Try the Entice - it has knobby tyres, a wider gear range, and better suspension.
Trade-off
Most Kalkhoff bikes are hardtails; if you're after the premium comfort of full suspension, you'll be dishing out premium dollars.

Trade-off
This is as stripped back as it gets: no mudguards, rack, lights or suspension. Perfect for someone who may already have lights or a rack, and who's ready to level up without the extra expense.

The Velectrix Urban is fully equipped with everything you need to roll out the door: lights, mudguards, rear rack and front suspension. You'll pay a bit more, but all you need is a helmet and you're ready to go.
The all-of-the-above
